Consultation
All of our surgeries now operate an appointment system for consultations. A standard consultation is 10 minutes in length, although we will usually book in a longer consultation if necessary, for example with first vaccinations, export work and complicated cases. We do endeavour to ensure that you are seen at your alloted time but veterinary work is unpredictable and emergencies do happen so please bear with us if your appointmnet is a few minutes late.
During your consultation with the vet, feel free to raise any concerns you may be having with your pet - no question is a silly question if you are worried about it. If your pet is poorly it is important that you give an honest and complete picture of his or her actions over the preceding few days as this will help us to arrive at a diagnosis.
If your pet can sometimes be a bit unfriednly, it is important that you let us know at the earliest opportunity for the safety of all concerned. Some pets are fine with most procedures but hate, for example, having their nails clipped or temperature taken. If we know in advance we may ask a nurse for assistance in holding. If you have a neeedle phobia or are a bit squeamish, we are happy to let you wait outside whilst a procedure is performed.
After examining your pet, the vet will advise you on a course of action. If further tests and procedures are advised they will be happy to give you an estimate of costs involved. If there is anything you do not understand or would like further information on do not hesitate to ask.
Willett House is pleased to be able to offer a reduced primary consultation fee to pensioners, please show reception any documentation to support this at the time of arrival for your appointment.
