Canine Hip Replacement

At Willett House Veterinary Surgeons we are pleased to be able to offer canine hip replacements as part of the orthopaedic service we provide. A hip replacement involves replacing the ball and socket components of the hip joint. We use a system which has been evaluated and refined in the USA over the last 20 years to reduce the risk of complications to around 5%. BioMedtrix canine total hip implants are manufactured with the same materials and processes as human hip replacement implants and are secured in position using bone cement. The main indication for a hip replacement is for pain and debilitation associated with a condition called hip dyspalsia.
