Lower GI Endoscopy

Lower GI endoscopy is the technique of placing a flexible endoscope via the anus to enter the large intestine. This provides direct visualisation under magnification and allows biopsies to be performed without the need for surgery. This is particularly useful in the investigation of long term colitis problems or animals that are straining to pass motions.
